Meticulous

A lot of us resort to using Google and AI tools to polish our profile, but these methods do not provide the same end product as mentorship from talented people who are already in your field of choice. The mentors that I worked with from Meticulous Medicine simplified the process on how to create things like a CV and a cover letter in a way that motivates students rather than overwhelms them. My mentors also gave me direct feedback that elevated my formal writing, allowing readers to feel more connected. As a high school student involved in a lot of activities, resume mentorship provided by Dhalia was very valuable to me. This is because she helped me extract the impact that I had in the activities that I participated in and frame it into something quantifiable and resume-worthy. Her talent with words lit up each of my activity descriptions and proved to me how profoundly diction is when standing out to admissions teams. Through each mentoring session with Masuda, I shifted my perspective on how to stand out to admissions teams in such a competitive field. At first, I believed that doing as many activities as possible and committing to every opportunity would make you unique, however, I soon learned that no matter how many activities you do, having a clear story/theme that you are strongly connected to would make you a much more distinctive applicant. As college applications become increasingly competitive, high school students are faced with even more stress and hesitation on how to stand out to admissions teams than before. Overall, I would definitely recommend high school students meet with a mentor who will help make career planning and the application process significantly more manageable.
